About the prize
The SAESP Award for Best Scientific Article is an initiative of SAESP to recognize professionals who contribute to advances in Anesthesiology through scientific publications. The winner will receive a registration for an international conference of their choice:
- ANESTHESIOLOGY 2025 (October 10-14, 2025 – San Antonio, Texas, USA)
- EUROANESTHESIA 2026 (6-8 June 2026 – Rotterdam, The Netherlands)
Who can participate?
The first author must be a member of SAESP and be up to date with his/her obligations. Co-authors may be from any institution and even non-physicians. Directors and members of the Scientific Committee of SAESP may not participate.
Types of accepted papers
Only Original Studies will be accepted. Case reports, literature reviews, systematic reviews and meta-analyses will not be considered. The article must have been published in 2024 in non-predatory journals of recognized scientific value.
How will the assessment be carried out?
Criteria used by the Judging Committee: relevance of the topic, creativity, methodology, results, discussion, clarity and accuracy of the text, conclusions and references. The Judging Committee will be formed by 3 renowned anesthesiologists chosen by the Scientific Committee of SAESP.

The award ceremony will take place during the COPA SAESP 2025, in day April 25th, at 18:30 am
