SAESP Award 2025: best scientific article will be awarded at COPA SAESP 2025

O SAESP Award 2025 for Best Scientific Article is an initiative of the Society of Anesthesiology of the State of São Paulo (SAESP) that recognizes the best works in anesthesiology and related areas. 

The award is intended for experts in the field who published their articles in scientific journals in 2024, and the winner will be awarded during the COPA SAESP 2025.

This year, the winner will be able to choose as the prize a registration for one of the international congresses:

• Anesthesiology 2025, which will be held between October 10 and 14, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas, USA;
• Euroanesthesia 2026, which will take place from June 6 to 8, 2026, in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

How to participate

Registration of works for the SAESP Award 2025 must be carried out by March 25th at congress website. Scientific articles whose first author is a member of SAESP and is up to date with his/her membership rights are eligible for the award. Co-authors may be members who are not members of the society or even those who do not have a medical degree. However, directors and members of the scientific committee of SAESP are not eligible to participate.

The papers must have been published in Portuguese, English or Spanish in renowned scientific journals. Only original studies will be accepted. Case reports, literature reviews, systematic reviews and meta-analyses will not be accepted and cannot compete for the SAESP Award 2025.

Evaluation criteria and judging committee for the SAESP Award 2024

The SAESP Scientific Committee, which will be composed of three renowned anesthesiologists, together with the society's board of directors, will evaluate the works based on the following criteria: relevance of the topic to anesthesiology, creativity, methodology, results, discussion of the topic, writing and accuracy of the text, conclusions and references. 

The winner will be announced by April 5, 2025, and the awards ceremony will take place during the COPA SAESP 2025, on April 25, 2025, at 18:30 p.m. The SAESP Award 2025 will be awarded to the first author of the selected article. The winner must be a member of SAESP and up to date with their membership obligations until March 30, 2025.
